Carbon Zero Wood Pellets From Costa Rica
Each year, Costa Rica produces more than 1.2 million tons of wood, 40 percents of which ends up as waste. Founded in 2010, a member of SIMEC PELLET UNION takes this wood waste and turns it into high energy density fuel pellets. The wood pellet plant is designed to produce 2,000 tons of pellets per month. It is the first Central American company dedicated to the production of renewable energy from wood pellets and environmentally friendly products such as cat litter and others. It brings over 80,000 carbon credits to market.
